Expert review of the Canon imageRUNNER 3225N printer
Built to increase productivity in demanding office settings, the Canon IR-3225N printer has everything that workgroups need to produce high quality outputs. The device comes with a large built-in memory and a powerful print engine, allowing up to 24,000 impressions per month. It offers high-resolution prints up to 1200x1200 dpi, while fax sending and copying are very efficient, with great output rates. However, the Canon ImageRUNNER IR-3225N laser printer is only capable of monochrome printing and takes long to print, compared to other laser MFPs in its range.
Design
The Canon IR-3225N black and white office printer is a large machine that can take up a lot of space in a small office. Large offices, however, won't have a problem setting this robust unit up in a dedicated production space. It has 512 MB RAM, upgradeable to 1 GB, a powerful 1200 dpi print engine, reliable and fast fax modem, and a digital copier that doubles as a scanner. The Canon IR-3225N mono laser printer even has an automatic document feeder and several paper trays for efficient paper handling.
Advantages
In addition to its impressive design features, the Canon IR-3225N multifunction printer boasts good print and copy resolutions up to 1200x1200 dpi. The IR 3225N photocopier does not need too long a warm-up time to work efficiently, and it can send and receive faxes at speedy rates (3 seconds per page). The device also boasts high monthly duty cycle, and excellent page yields from its high yield Canon IR3225N cartridge. Additionally, this model is a step above the earlier version, since it offers networking as a standard feature
Disadvantages
The Canon IR-3225N black and white copier, however, only prints in black and white. Unfortunately, the IR3225N fails to impress in terms of print speeds too, as it can only produce up to 25 ppm.
