The Dell 2235dn uses Cartridge Save 593-10329 toner cartridges. Cartridge Save 593-10329 toner comes in black; the black cartridge prints 6,000 pages.
The Dell 2235dn is a multifunction machine designed for the needs of a small to medium-sized office. It is versatile enough to be used as a photo-copier while the sharp text quality makes it an excellent device for printing professional documents, although the machine is limited to black and white images only as Dell is not targeting this machine at the colour printer competition.
The understated yet sleek frame of the Dell 2235dn is boxy. It can take up a little more space in a standard desktop and it needs a steady and durable surface because it is slightly heavy. It runs on 128MB of memory with a 300-sheet input tray. The Dell 2235dn requires a single toner cartridge although the user can select a standard or high capacity version. There is an automatic document feeder and duplexer on the flatbed scanner, which is adjacent to the small but cramped operator panel with a small monochrome display screen.
The print speed is up to 33ppm, while the two-sided printing feature of the Dell 2235dn can churn out pages in speeds of up to 14.4ppm, depending on the document's complexity. The scanner is capable of producing sharp and very detailed images. The copier is also fast, taking up to 11 seconds to produce a single page. The Dell 2235dn is able to print clean and crisp text on plain paper. Built-in networking makes it easier to be shared by a workgroup.
This is a noisy machine. The Dell 2235dn can only print in monochrome. Print quality is mediocre and copies look very poor. Wi-Fi connection is not included and there are limited options to increase the paper capacity. The resolution of the Dell 2235dn is rather low at 600x600dpi, which may compromise the quality of very detailed graphics.
