The Epson AcuLaser CX17 uses Cartridge Save C13S05061-3PACK toner cartridges. Cartridge Save C13S05061-3PACK toner comes in multicolour; the multicolour cartridge prints 1,400 pages.
The Epson AcuLaser CX17 is a compact A4 printer, which can scan, copy as well as print in colour, all for a reasonable price. Epson claim that this device was built with the office in mind. However, connectivity is limited to a standard USB port and there's no Ethernet connection to add multiple users – not ideal for busy offices.
In terms of design, the Epson AcuLaser CX17 is fairly compact (318 x 410 x 389 mm). It does come with a small monochrome display at the front, accompanied by various navigational controls, including cancel job buttons. Paper capacity is 150 sheets across 2 trays, with only the A4 variety supported. Ink on the Epson AcuLaser CX17 is easy to access and replace.
The main advantages of the AcuLaser CX17 is that is multi-functional – ideal for those of you on a budget and don't won't too fork out for a separate scanner/copier. Print output is also a big plus - both the printer and scanner produce clear and crisp reproductions.
Despite the Epson AcuLaser CX17 being marketed towards the office/business market it fails to include the most of basic of connections, which means the printer can't sit on a corporate network – not ideal if you want to print from multiple devices. Print speeds are equally as disappointing – with the AcuLaser CX17 just mustering up the energy to produce 12 pages per minute. Furthermore there is no flexibility in terms of print materials as only A4 sheets are supported. Overall this is one to avoid if you print occasionally or want to print from more than one device.
