This printer comes with a number of clear design advantages, including a high duty cycle and a useful graphic touchscreen display system. Despite some drawbacks relating to its system requirements, however, the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw is a superb choice for those who need a printer that goes the distance.

Design

The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw is designed with users in mind. It offers a range of features, such as a maximum monthly duty cycle of 50,000 pages as well as a maximum print resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. It has a processing speed of 1,200 MHz, and its 4.3-inch intuitive touchscreen colour graphic display means that you won’t have to worry about how to change settings or interact with its features. It also comes with all of the functionalities you need for a busy, connected printing environment, such as scanning, copying and faxing.

Advantages

One of the distinctive advantages of the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw is that it comes with USB ports built in as standard, both a standard one on the rear side for connecting to a computer and also a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port on the front for printing directly from a key fob. It also includes a gigabit ethernet connection for added connectivity. Another advantage is the automatic document feeder, which can hold up to 50 sheets at a time and can save employees significant manual work.

Disadvantages

This printer is not perfect, and it does have some downsides. It has a number of system requirements which may not always be possible: it will need to be able to access at least two gigabytes of hard drive space, for example, while it also requires an internet connection for full functionality.
