With the HP LaserJet 4345, workgroups can have an efficient multifunction printer that can help increase their productivity and fulfil their basic communication needs. The HP LaserJet 4345 multifunction printer can easily be shared by a network of users without compromising speed and overall performance, and the built-in memory is more than enough for a small office, too. Unfortunately, the HP 4345 laser printer can only print in monochrome and it doesn't have a standard fax facility, unlike its siblings.
Design
The HP 4345 multifunction monochrome laser printer is a more attractive contender than the previous models in the LaserJet line. It features a larger display screen and minimal buttons for on-board configuration, making it more user-friendly than its predecessors. The LaserJet 4345 includes a flatbed scanner on top with an automatic document feeder and a digital copier. The HP LaserJet 4345 printer can be connected to a PC via Ethernet or a parallel cable.
Advantages
The Hewlett Packard 4345 LaserJet printer is user-friendly and can be shared by up to 5 users. The memory is expandable to 512MB, and there is a 20GB hard disk drive for ample storage. Print and copy speeds are up to 43ppm, and both text and graphics look sharp in high 1200x1200dpi resolution. There is a 50-sheet document feeder, a 500-sheet standard media tray, and a 100-sheet bypass feeder for more versatile paper handling. The HP LaserJet 4345 mono laser printer is compatible with HP JetDirect networking. Print costs are significantly lower when using a compatible HP LaserJet 4345 print cartridge which does up to 18,000 pages.
Disadvantages
Fax is optional, which means a separate fax modem should be purchased for the HP LaserJet 4345 printer to take advantage of that feature. The LaserJet 4345 is an oversized machine that weighs 51.61Kg, and it lacks direct printing capabilities. Users of Mac and Windows (i.e. Mac OS X and Windows 7) may encounter installation problems when using the HP LaserJet 4345.
