HP LaserJet 5000gn Printer Review
Expert review of the HP LaserJet 5000gn printer
The HP LaserJet 5000gn is a network-ready monochrome laser printer aimed at offices or workgroups with high-volume printing needs. The HP LaserJet 5000 GN can handle 65,000 pages every month and delivers good quality output, from images to text documents. It has high paper handling capacity and conveniently comes with an HP Jetdirect print server card. However, the HP 5000GN LaserJet has slow printing speed for a laser printer that is undoubtedly designed for office environments.
Design
This unit has an output tray on top and input paper trays at the bottom. The HP LaserJet 5000GN printer has a maximum paper handling capacity of 850 sheets. For print speeds, this laser printer can spew out text documents at 16 ppm. The HP LaserJet 5000 GN printer can handle different types of media as large as an A3. On the top left corner of the printer is a small control panel with monochrome LCD display.
Advantages
Workgroups will have no trouble sharing the HP LaserJet 5000GN monochrome printer as it comes with a print server card to make it easy connecting to a network. The HP 5000GN laser printer delivers excellent quality output and it is compatible with Windows and Macintosh computers. Maintenance is simple with this device, simply install the black HP LaserJet 5000GN printer cartridge and the rest takes care of itself in many ways.
Disadvantages
The HP LaserJet 5000 GN mono laser is a bit outdated. Though it is network-ready, it only has a parallel port and doesn't offer USB port. The LaserJet 5000GN printer model has slow printing speeds and does not have the convenience of a duplexer and expandable paper handling capacity.
