The HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428dw uses HP 59A toner cartridges. HP 59A toner comes in black; the black cartridge prints 3,000 pages.
If you’re on the hunt for a printer which can deliver reliable black and white prints time after time, the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428dw is a smart move. It has a speedy processor and a large screen for easy mode switching, while it also provides excellent connectivity options – both physical and cloud-based. It is not, however, colour compatible – which may make it an unwise investment if you may need to print in colour in the future.
This printer has a number of excellent design specifications. It has a processor speed of 1,200 MHz, which is industry standard and which will help to fuel smooth printing sessions. It has a maximum input capacity of up to 900 sheets including the optional addition of a 550-sheet feeder tray, while it also has an output capacity of 150 sheets. Its best black print quality is HP FastRes1200, which translates to 3600 x 600 dpi. It also features HP Auto-On/Auto-Off technology which helps to reduce the amount of power the printer uses.
Users who like to be able to see what they are doing on their printer clearly and easily will be pleased to note that the size of the colour touchscreen is almost 7cm. The HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428dw also offers other advantages, such as connectivity with Microsoft Office files even from a USB drive. Dual band Wi-Fi means that connections won’t break down, while its paper-saving mode means that you won’t have to restock paper quite as often.
It’s also worth reminding buyers that this device is only a monochrome printer, meaning that it is not able to deal with colour printouts. If this is something you or your organisation requires, it may be worth investing in a different model.
