Our Verdict:

Able to deal with a range of paper sizes and formats, the Konica Minolta 287 is a cost-effective printer that is ideal for a busy yet small office or workplace. Complete with mobile print technology, the printer offers good printing speeds and short warm-up and first print times.

Design

The Konica Minolta Bizhub 287 has been designed with Wi-Fi connectivity, and is compatible with a range of mobile printing services, including Google Cloud Print. The hard drive on the machine is around 250GB as standard and is able to store up to 3,000 documents. The unit features USB ports and Ethernet ports. The input capacity of the unit is 3,600 sheets. The dimensions of the unit are 56.8cm x 66cm x 73.5cm.

Advantages

The Konica Minolta Bizhub 287 can produce up to 28 pages per minute in A4 and half of that in A3. The printer can handle paper sizes from A5 to A3. Magnification of up to 400% when copying is a useful feature, and the machine is compatible with a range of operating systems, from Windows Vista to Linux and Citrix. The scan feature comes in a range of modes, and you can scan to a range of file types, including JPEG and searchable PDF. The Konica Minolta Bizhub 287 features duplex printing to save paper.

Disadvantages

The Konica Minolta Bizhub 287 is a large-scale mono printer; so any colour printing will require a separate machine. The printer’s scan resolution is not as good as the print resolution. Features such as stapling and folding are included, but there are limits to the number of pages that can be stapled together or folded into a booklet. This is a large printer that weighs more than 56kg, so it cannot be moved around by one person easily.
