Duplexing and a great selection of extras make the Kyocera ECOSYS M2030dn a convenient multi-function printer for a small and busy office. It can lower printing and management costs, while the five-line display can make on-board operation easier. However, it lacks an OCR software and wireless capabilities.
Design
The Kyocera M2030dn has a boxy frame that weighs approximately 18kg and measures 494mm wide, 430mm deep, and 448mm tall. It runs on 512MB of memory and powered by a PowerPC 465S / 667MHz processor, and uses the signature Kyocera Ecosys laser printing technology with a 1200dpi engine. The standard input capacities are 50 sheets for the multi-purpose tray, 250 sheets for the universal paper cassette, and 150 sheets for the output bin. The main interfaces are high-speed USB 2.0 and Ethernet. There is an optional slot for an SD card reader and a print server. The operator panel's centrepiece is the five-line LCD screen.
Advantages
The lifetime drum saves money in the long run. Paper capacity is expandable to 800 sheets. Duplexing ADF is a standard in the Kyocera ECOSYS M2030dn along with a front panel USB port, and programmable job keys. It prints fast, at up to 30ppm in A4, with the first copy ready in 6.9 seconds. Users can copy double-sided ID cards on paper with the Kyocera ECOSYS M2030dn. The memory is also upgradeable to 1,536MB.
Disadvantages
The Kyocera ECOSYS M2030dn does not have an OCR software and built-in Wi-Fi. It can be complicated to change toners. The Kyocera ECOSYS M2030dn does not print in colour and the busy control panel can make on-board operation confusing.
