An easy to use all-in-one like the Kyocera ECOSYS M2535dn can serve as the centrepiece of a small workgroup or business. It is reasonably priced and cost-effective to use in the long run, with a lifetime drum, expandable paper handling, and high security features for privacy to sensitive data, but it is prints only in monochrome and it lacks an OCR software.
Design
The Kyocera ECOSYS M2535dn is part of the Ecosys line of printers by Kyocera, with a universal design and a boxy build. It weighs approximately 18kg. The main unit measures 494mm wide, 448mm tall, and 430mm deep, with a 250-sheet universal paper cassette, 50-sheet multi-purpose feeder, and a 50-sheet document processor. A 667MHz processor serves as the main power of the M235dn as it runs on 512MB of memory. High-speed USB 2.0 and Ethernet are the main interfaces. The control panel features an LCD screen and one-touch job function keys.
Advantages
The Kyocera M2535dn can print up to 35 pages per minute in A4. The copier can produce the first page in around seven seconds. Fax and duplexing are standard, with super G3 compatibility and network fax supported. There is an optional slot for an SD card reader. The versatile 50-sheet document processor can scan two-sided originals. An additional paper tray can increase the paper capacity of the Kyocera ECOSYS M2535dn to 800 sheets. Users can print directly or scan to a USB flash drive. Advanced security options help control and monitor usage and security when printing sensitive documents.
Disadvantages
No OCR software is supplied with the Kyocera ECOSYS M2535dn. This device does not have built-in Wi-Fi. Toner cartridge maintenance and replacement can be fiddly and the busy operator can also make the Kyocera ECOSYS M2535dn confusing to operate.
