The Kyocera ECOSYS M3040dn is a reliable multifunction device with double-sided copy, print, and colour scanning capabilities in A4. It is fast and it supports mobile printing to save time and increase productivity, and it is easily expandable for dynamic work groups. However, it can print only in black and white and is heavier than similar models from other brands.
Design
This monochrome A4 multifunction device is engineered with Kyocera Ecosys laser technology with a 1200dpi resolution engine that runs on 512MB of RAM while being powered by a 667MHz processor. The universal paper cassette can handle 500 sheets, while the multi-purpose tray can handle 100 sheets. There is a 75-sheet reversing document processor. The base unit weighs 21.5kg and measures 575mm tall, 455mm deep, and 475mm wide. Two USB host ports allow direct printing from and scanning to USB flash drives. High-speed USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet are the main interfaces. There are slots for an SD card, SSD hard disc, or an optional SDHC card.
Advantages
The Kyocera M3040dn boasts fast print speeds of up to 40ppm and high productivity functionality with a reversing document processor that can scan at 40ipm. The built-in file compressor can simplify digitisation of documents and electronically sending large amounts of data. With long life components, the Kyocera ECOSYS M3040dn can minimise printing and running costs, as well as environmental impact. AirPrint, SSL printing, toner save mode, and encrypted PDF direct print are supported. The paper capacity is upgradeable to 2,600 sheets.
Disadvantages
