The Kyocera ECOSYS M4125idn uses Kyocera TK-6115 toner cartridges. Kyocera TK-6115 toner comes in black; the black cartridge prints 15,000 pages.
The Kyocera M4125idn toner is a flexible monochrome MFP for small enterprises that don’t require colour output for work tasks. It has standard wireless connectivity and support for mobile printing, and is capable of being a daily driver for basic copy, scan, and print functions. Kyocera's continued commitment to long life components and low power consumption also makes it one of the most environmentally friendly and cost-effective MFPs on the market.
The ECOSYS M4125idn toner measures 590 x 590 x 688 mm as standard and weighs in at just shy of 50 kg. Paper is handled by a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 500-sheet standard universal paper cassette, though max input capacity can be boosted to 1,600 sheets with additional options. The device has 1 GB of RAM memory, but this can also be upgraded to 3 GB, and a dual core 1.2 GHz processor. Operation is centred around a full colour touch panel, which boasts wizard-style navigation and is complemented by a range of physical buttons.
Black and white print quality is great with a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi and 600 x 600 dpi for both copy and scan. The ECOSYS M4125idn toner warms up in less than 20 seconds and can then fire out pages at 25 ppm with A4 paper, and 12 ppm with A3. Standard duplexing and a 50 sheet reverse automatic document feeder can cut costs, as can Kyocera’s own green design features and components. Mobile functionality is great for prints from smartphones via AirPrint or Google Cloud Print, and there are quite a few standard security features.
The Kyocera ECOSYS M4125idn toner is built for smaller workloads and is not intended for large offices or busier workspaces. The device also lacks support for finishers, so those looking for stapling and other added features should look elsewhere.
