Small to medium offices and workgroups can boost their productivity with the Kyocera ECOSYS M6530cdn. This colour multifunction printer is fast and produces high-quality documents and text. Double-sided printing and fax are standard in this unit, and it can be expanded to have more memory and increase the paper capacity, but the base unit has a few insufficiencies and it is expensive to upgrade.
Design
Weighing approximately 34.7Kg and measuring 475mm wide, 558mm deep, and 616mm tall, the Kyocera ECOSYS M6530cdn has a wide and imposing build, with a sleek, industrial design. Its centrepiece is a busy control panel with a small display screen to simplify on-board operation. The device runs on 1024Mb RAM and it gets its power from a 1GHz processor. It comes with a 250-sheet universal cassette and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray. The 250-sheet output bin has a paper full sensor. The main interfaces are Gigabit Ethernet and high-speed USB 2.0. There are two USB host ports.
Advantages
It prints in speeds of up to 30ppm in A4, in a resolution of up to 9600dpi. Duplexing is a standard. The Kyocera ECOSYS M6530cdn has a fully featured super G3 fax with a 33.6Kbps modem for speedy transmissions. The scanner can scan to email, FTP, a USB host, or SMB, and the copier can produce up to 999 duplicates from an original document. Paper usage can be reduced with the 75-sheet reversing document feeder, which supports A6 scanning, too. The paper capacity of the Kyocera ECOSYS M6530cdn is upgradeable to 1850 sheets with five extra paper trays.
Disadvantages
The paper capacity of the base unit is too low, and there are no means to expand the output bin.
