Expert review of the Lexmark C2325dw printer
The Lexmark C2325dw printer is a multipurpose Lexmark product that produces documents in colour and black and white as well. It incorporates printing, copying, scanning, document storage and fax services, with great speeds. It is manufactured with a digital copier and colour laser printing technology, with a maximum monthly duty cycle of 60,000 impressions. The recommended monthly duty cycle is much lower at 500 to 5,000 pages. This printer is ideal for large businesses which require the ability to print large volumes on a variety of media.
Design
The Lexmark C2325dw printer measures 12.1 x 17.4 x 16.6 inches and has a weight of 45 lb. It is designed with an automatic document feeder, input/output trays and a bypass tray which can handle 100 sheets at a go. It can handle plain paper with a minimum weight of 90.3gsm and maximum of 105gsm in the standard paper tray, however, it can handle paper with a weight of up to 216 gsm in the integrated tray. Moreover, it has a standard media capacity of 1450 sheets. The printer boasts a 1000 MHz processor and system memory of 512MB as standard that can be upgraded. It can be connected to network protocols such as AppleTalk, TCP/IP and IPX/SPX.
Advantages
The printer has a reasonably quick printing speed of up to 25 ppm for monochrome and 23 ppm for colour. It also has a flexible upgrading path in that its RAM space can be increased and it also has the option of adding on fax functionality. It produces crisp clear documents in both black and colour that are professional looking.
Disadvantages
Due to its size, this printer requires a fairly large space, while its high-power consumption makes it better suited to commercial bulk prints and copies than to smaller businesses. The cost of replacing depleted toners is substantial, making it somewhat expensive to operate.
