This colour laser printer is a heavy-duty printer that is suitable for most small and medium offices. The Lexmark C736dtn has been designed to work with a variety of media types including standard paper, envelopes, labels, transparencies and card stock. It may be a little large for general home use.
Design
This printer has a 550-sheet capacity feed drawer and is compatible with a wide variety of operating systems including Windows, Mac, Linux, Citrix, UNIX and Novell. Standard memory is 256MB, but it can be upgraded to 1280MB if needed. The printer is mid-sized at 57.6 x 43.5 x 54.5cm and weighs 29.7kg.
Advantages
Print speed is up to 35 pages per minute in mono and colour, slowing down to 23 sides per minute in duplex mode. Print resolution for both mono and colour is 1200 x 1200 dpi, and a variety of paper sizes up to legal are supported. The recommended monthly page volume for the Lexmark C736dtn is a maximum of 2,500 to 10,000 pages, a high volume, making it a good choice for most offices.
Disadvantages
This Lexmark C736dtn is not the smallest around and it does not come with its own stand, meaning a dedicated desk or table will most likely be required for this device. Its weight means that it is not easy to move around either. With an operating noise level of 54 dB, this printer is on par with many larger printers, which some users may find a little loud, although resting noise levels are much lower.
