Expert review of the Lexmark C792dte printer
Designed for printing only, the Lexmark C792dte is a colour laser printer that features integrated duplexing to help cut down on paper use. Capable of producing large quantities of high-quality prints on a monthly basis, it has a reasonably quick print speed. It is on the large side for a single-function device, but it will sit on a desk. This printer looks somewhat dated, as it does have a rather boxy appearance. Despite its appearance, this printer is a good printing-only solution for small to medium workgroups.
Design
The Lexmark C792dte printer weighs in at a hefty 131 lbs and measures 25.5 x 22.3 x 20.2 inches. However, you can still place it on the corner of a sturdy desk. Equipped with USB and Ethernet connections as standard, this printer also includes the option of adding wireless, parallel or serial connectivity. It is also equipped with a 4.3-inch colour touch screen to manage print tasks. This printer includes the option to add up to two additional paper trays to increase the standard paper capacity of 1,200 pages to 3,200 pages.
Advantages
With a maximum printing speed of up to 50 ppm, the Lexmark C792dte colour laser printer is capable of large volume printing with a recommended duty cycle of 2,500 to 25,000 pages/month and a maximum duty cycle of 150,000 pages/month. You can equip it with several optional paper-handling features, such as a high-capacity feeder, staple finisher and five-bin inbox. This printer has been manufactured to be both reliable and robust.
Disadvantages
The Lexmark C792dte does not support any kind of copying, scanning or faxing, which many businesses will find to be an issue and therefore consider an all-in-one solution instead. The printer is also rather large and heavy in comparison to more recently produced devices.
