Expert review of the Lexmark CX317dn printer
The Lexmark CX317dn is a colour multifunction laser printer with ability to print, scan and copy. It will work well in a small or home office. The use of high yield toners reduces printer downtime, but paper capacity is just 250 sheets, which may need frequent refills during times of high printing volume. Unit produces rich colour tones suitable for professional graphics thanks to Lexmark’s innovative colour technology. With duplex printing, high yield toners and an instant warm up fuser running costs are kept low and reduce the environmental footprint of the device. The price tag is affordable but as there is no fax function an additional device may be needed. It is possible to print wirelessly, but this too will cost extra.
Design
The Lexmark CX317dn measures 470 x 444 x 558mm and comes in a grey coloured design. Paper is stored in a 250-sheet input tray. The printer has a control panel on the front featuring an easy to read 6cm colour LCD display. Print speeds are 23ppm, resolution is 2400 x 600 dpi and the monthly duty cycle is 60,000 pages. Connection is achieved from a USB or network interface, with an optional Wi-Fi connection if required.
