With its incredibly fast printing speeds and intuitive uninterrupted results, the Lexmark MS818dn is a great option for large businesses with high volume printing needs. Promising print speeds of up to 60 pages per minute and a time to first page speed as fast as 4.4 seconds, this machine will make high capacity projects a breeze. The machine combines powerful processing with up-to-date technology thanks to a simple mobile print app and optional Wi-Fi adapter that allows users to print from most mobile devices or wirelessly from most desktop computers and laptops. Also, unlike many other standalone printers, the Lexmark MS818dn comes with a range of optional finishing features, including hole punching and stapling add-ons.
Design
Compact and attractively designed, the Lexmark MS818dn measures just 419 x 425 x 510 mm and weighs under 24kg. The machine is controlled by a user-friendly 6cm colour LCD display that helps make most complicated jobs simple. The display is operated through a powerful Dual Core 800 MHz processor and the machine has a standard memory of 512MB, which can be increased to a maximum of 2560MB. As standard, the device has a paper handling capacity of 650 pages, with this blowing out to a maximum of 4,400 pages with up to five additional trays. It also includes paper output capacity of a standard 550 pages and a maximum of 2,550 pages.
Advantages
Thanks to its decent processing power and memory, the Lexmark MS-818dn boasts amazing print speeds, image quality and reliability. The paper storage and output capacities also ensure projects are completed fast and with minimal user input. The option to add finishers is another great feature.
Disadvantages
Due to its power and huge monthly printing cycle, the Lexmark MS818dn is a very niche machine recommended for large businesses. The speed will probably not be required by smaller operations. In addition, the fact that the Wi-Fi function is not standard may be an important factor to consider.
