The all-in-one Lexmark XM1242 is a monochrome printer with a relatively small footprint. This multifunction device can also copy, fax and scan. With an integrated duplexer, this laser printer produces high-quality black and white prints up to A4 size. Designed to fit easily on the corner of a desk, the Lexmark XM1242 is a good fit for many small workgroups and busy home offices. Its beige and black colouring and smaller size make it suitable for many office settings.
Design
Measuring 18.4 x 15.7 x 16.9 inches, the Lexmark XM1242 laser printer weighs approximately 42.8lb, making it easy to move if necessary. Featuring a 4.3-inch colour touch display screen, this printer is easy to interact with and learn to use. To expand its paper capacity, the Lexmark XM1242 includes the option to add an additional 550-page paper tray as well as a 250-page paper tray. It includes both an automatic document feeder and integrated duplexer as standard. This printer includes the option to add wireless connectivity, in addition to standard Ethernet and USB connections.
Advantages
With a standard paper capacity of 250 sheets and with an additional 100-sheet by-pass tray, the XM1242 Lexmark laser printer should meet the needs of most small workgroups with minimal printing requirements. Able to print up to 42 ppm, this machine has an average recommended duty cycle of 1,000 to 10,000 pages per month. Relatively quick, this printer can produce a first print or copy as quickly as 6.25 seconds. It can print on a wide variety of media ranging from card stock to transparencies.
Disadvantages
The Lexmark XM1242 printer model is a monochrome-only printer and does not support colour printing or copying. Businesses requiring colour printing and copying may wish to consider an alternative or will need to add an additional device.
