The Lexmark XS748de is a digital laser colour printer that allows you to print from a flash drive; scan to a flash drive, email or network; and prints thousands of pages before you need to replace the cartridges. It can certainly handle the average office’s printing requirements, and it is a solid machine that comes with everything that you need to get started.
Design
The printer features a 7-inch touchscreen for easy operation, and the duplex feature is automatic. It can use a range of paper sizes up to legal, and the unit has an input tray that can handle up to 550 pages. This printer is a solid unit that is designed to last.
Advantages
It takes up to nine seconds to produce the first print or copy, and the maximum copy and print speed is around 35 pages per minute. You can enlarge documents to as much as 400% of their original size or reduce them down to 25%. The maximum print resolution is 1200 x 1200 dpi, which gives you excellent print quality time after time. The Lexmark XS748de can print onto transparencies, labels and envelopes as well as paper.
Disadvantages
The recommended monthly print volume for the Lexmark XS748de is a maximum of 10,000 pages, which is more than adequate for the average office, but a very busy office may find that this is not enough. With a noise level of 58 dBA while in operation, the Lexmark XS748de is a little louder than other printers in the range. The large size of the printer means it will take up a lot more space than the average office printer. It has a height of 71.7cm and will need a dedicated space of its own.
