Our Verdict:

The Oki C511dn colour printer is aimed at creative and demanding workgroups that need to produce high quality and impressive documents fast. It comes with auto two-sided printing and a network-friendly interface while promising lower running costs, and it supports a wide variety of media so users can produce the most creative and striking output, but the Oki C511dn laser printer is expensive and doesn't offer many expandability options.

Design

This is a plain, box-shaped unit that measures 242mm tall, 504mm deep, and 410mm wide and weighs 22Kg. Connectivity is via USB and Ethernet, and the standard paper capacity is 250 sheets. A separate multi-purpose tray is integrated into the front panel of the Oki C511dn colour laser printer and it can accommodate up to 100 sheets at a time. The C-511dn prints using LED technology.

Advantages

This A4 printer can print colour documents in speeds of up to 26ppm, while print speeds for monochrome documents are up to 30ppm. The Oki C511dn colour and mono printer can easily be connected to a network and shared by up to 20 users. MAC and IP filtering are the main security features. Print quality can be improved with ProQ2400 multi-level technology, at up to 1200x600dpi resolution. The Oki C511dn can print on various types of media and two-sided printing is a standard. A three-year warranty can be obtained. Packs of high capacity Oki C511dn toner cartridges are available to help reduce output costs.

Disadvantages

The memory of the Oki C511dn A4 colour LED printer cannot be expanded. Its maximum paper capacity is only 880 sheets, making it unsuitable for a growing workplace. It is somewhat noisy, too, and despite the compact frame, the Oki C 511dn is heavy. It takes 60 seconds to warm-up!
