The Oki C9655n is an A3 colour printer for small to medium-sized creative workgroups that want to print on a wider range of media types. It offers standard Ethernet connectivity for easy network integration, while upgradeable options make it more versatile for the growing workplace. However, the Oki C9655n A3 colour network laser printer is expensive and lacks a few important features that could compromise productivity.
Design
This boxy, 76Kg device stands 471mm tall and 645mm wide, while being 623mm in diameter, so it may not be the best choice for very small spaces. The Oki C9655n colour laser printer comes with a standard 530-sheet paper tray and a 230-sheet multi-purpose tray, plus a 500-sheet facedown and 200-sheet face-up output area. The Oki C9655n runs on 512MB of RAM with an 800MHz processor, and the standard interfaces include parallel, USB 2.0, and Ethernet ports.
Advantages
Built-in Ethernet makes it easier to integrate the Oki C9655n printer into a network. It prints fast, too, at up to 36ppm in colour and 40ppm in monochrome. The device can handle various printer languages, and users have the option to install a hard disk drive for additional storage. The Oki C9655n LED laser printer prints in 1200x600dpi, so text documents appear smooth and sharp. To minimise downtime and stoppages, the Oki C9655n colour cartridges can print continuously for 22,000 pages which is ideal for large volume colour printing tasks.
Disadvantages
Weight is one of the setbacks of the Oki C-9655n, so it requires at least two people to lift or transport the device. It is criticised for the high initial price, too, despite the lack of useful features like an automatic duplexer and two-sided printing. While the Oki C9655n colour printer can be upgraded for better performance, doing so means spending more money.
