A fast-paced office could use a reliable and flexible monochrome wireless office like the Oki MB562dnw. It cleverly combines automatic double-sided printing, faxing, scanning, and copying to optimise the workflow and save time, while the large colour touch screen simplifies on-board configuration. LED technology may help minimise running costs, but some users may not like the absence of colour printing and the high purchase price.
Design
The industrial design is contrasted by the seven-inch LCD touch-screen panel and a compact frame, which weighs 23Kg and measures 496mm tall, 427mm wide, and 478mm deep. The Oki MB562dnw comes with 512MB RAM and a 3GB eMMC, and its processing speed is 667MHz. The 600dpi flatbed scanner has a 5-sheet reverse automatic document feeder. Paper is fed to the MB562dnw from a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray or 530-sheet universal paper cassette, then dispensed into a 150-sheet output tray face-down. The connectivity options are USB 2.0, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and a host USB port.
Advantages
The Oki MB562dnw is fast, with print speeds of up to 45ppm. Up to 25 users can share it over a network. Wireless printing eliminates cable clutter, while the compact size helps save space. The RADF can minimise paper consumption and save time. It is easy to configure the Oki MB562dnw or use the copy and scan functions on-board through the large colour touch screen panel. Direct printing is supported from a USB flash drive. The paper capacity is expandable to 1,160 sheets. Up to 40 one-touch dials and 300 speed dials can be stored in the fax memory.
Disadvantages
It is slow to warm-up, taking at least 60 seconds from being switched on. The Oki MB562dnw is expensive to purchase and upgrade. The output bin's capacity is disproportionate to the maximum paper capacity. Hence, users may have to continuously look after it to make sure that it does not get full, especially when the Oki MB562dnw is handling high volume jobs. The print quality becomes sub-par with photographs.
