Expert review of the Ricoh Aficio MPC3004SP printer
The Ricoh MP C3004SP printer is a decent printer for offices that require legal-sized copying and or printing. The printer is able to produce colour and black and white prints up to legal-sized paper. These printers are aimed at the midsize workgroup for which they are ideal. The Ricoh C3004SP printer is a productive machine with decent paper capacity and some good features.
Design
The Ricoh MP C3004SP printer is able to print colour images at 30ppm. Copying, printing and scanning are standard, but this model does not have a fax facility. The C3004SP has a 2GB memory and is upgradeable, plus a 250 GB hard drive. The Ricoh MP C3004SP has a capacity of 2,200 sheets. Printing and scanning are standard and scan-to functions include email (with LDAP support), folder and URL. A USB/SD card can be used with the scan-to-media function that permits the user to scan to a USB flash drive or similar devices. Connectivity includes Ethernet, USB and Wi-Fi. The Ricoh MP C3004SP has a 10.1 inch touchscreen panel and is able to access previously saved items within Ricoh’s cloud environment. This model does not include an internal finisher, which makes it less expensive than the SR model.
Advantages
The Ricoh C3004SP has plenty of printing features and a variety of security features that include address book encryption, data overwrite, password protected and user-specific authentication. The Mandatory Security Information Printing feature lists the time of printing and name on the output.
Disadvantages
Some businesses may find that the printer’s inability to accept ledger-sized paper is a drawback. The lack of a faxing function is also a negative for some businesses but is become less important with the adoption of email for file transfers.
