Sharp MX-C250F Printer Review

Expert review of the Sharp MX-C250F printer

Our Verdict:
star
star-filled

The Sharp MX-C250F is a colour MFP that prints, copies, scans and faxes. Its smart and compact design will not only complement any office, but also significantly increases productivity. Another attractive feature is its simplicity, with its single feeder and single USB port making operations easy to initiate, so little or no training is required to start using it straight out of the box. With the ability to handle everyday workflows within a busy workgroup in a standard office, the MX-C250F will quickly prove its worth.

Design

The Sharp MX-C250F has dimensions of 429x509x398 and weighs a mere 28kg, making it a lighter and more flexible option than many other combined-function units of a similar type. It will fit snugly into a vacant corner and supply all the group’s printing, scanning and copying requirements. With a copy speed of 25ppm in both black-and-white and colour, and a print resolution of 600x600dpi, it can cope easily with substantial workloads whilst maintaining excellent quality. It takes up to 800 sheets, minimising the need for frequent reloading, and USB direct print and memory scans are enabled.

Advantages

The Sharp MXC250F is small and compact to fit into any crowded workgroup space, and its simplicity of design does not impact on its superb functionality. It has a short warm-up time and low power consumption, so it’s also impressive in terms of its green credentials, and the Toner Save mode ensures that it is in line with current Energy Star criteria. Its sleek, monochrome lines will complement any decor.

Disadvantages

The Sharp MXC250F is not internet connected, which will be a drawback for users who want their personnel to be able to operate it remotely, and has no ability to send documents to a central server. It’s a no-frills but highly efficient printer-scanner-copier.
