Expert review of the Xerox Phaser 6510N printer
The Xerox Phaser 6510N basic office laser printer is ideal for any small business or home office. It offers the print quality of a more expensive machine, but is affordable to run and easy to use. It supports mobile print technology to make life easier for workers.
Design
The Xerox Phaser 6510N has a two-line LCD screen for easy operation, and is compatible with AirPrint. A USB port allows for direct printing from memory sticks and other devices, and it has a maximum memory capacity of 1GB.
The input and bypass trays offer storage for 300 sheets of paper, although it has s the capacity to load up to 850 sheets using optional extras. Black print cartridges can handle up to 1,500 sheets of paper. The Xerox 6510N dimensions are 42cm x 48.3cm x 34.7cm.
Advantages
The Xerox 6510N can print up to 28 pages each minute, both in mono and colour. The print resolution is a high 1200 x 2400 dpi. Print features of the Xerox Phaser 6510N include Run Black, Saved Print and Watermarks. The printer is ideal for most offices, as it is compatible with both Mac OS and Windows, along with many other operating systems. The monthly print volume is 3,000 pages, which is ideal for most offices.
Disadvantages
There is a relatively long wait for a first page print, at up to 12 seconds, and the Xerox Phaser 6510N can only use paper up to A4 size. Warm-up time is also relatively high when compared to other machines, at around 26 seconds. The large size of the printer, and its weight at just under 24kg, mean it is not the most portable machine around.
