Expert review of the Xerox Phaser 7500DX printer
The Xerox Phaser 7500DX works hard to meet the needs of a medium to large business. It warms up quickly and prints the first page in just a few seconds. Prints are high quality in colour or black, with double the resolution of many others. This version of the Phaser 7500 includes two-sided printing capabilities which helps save paper. This model includes five paper input trays, so paper handling is not lacking for most workgroups. Unfortunately, it is also a bit bulky and heavy. It does not fit well on most desks, but this version comes with a wheeled stand.
Design
This printer is sturdy and heavy, and weighs 99 kg. Its dimensions are 64 x 66.5 x 77 cm. The exterior is primarily white, with a dark blue control panel located at the top front of the machine. The additional height of this model compared to other Xerox 7500 models is due to the additional paper trays that comes standard. Included in this version as well are 40GB of hard disk space, 512MB of memory, and one USB port.
Advantages
The Xerox Phaser 7500DX works hard, offering a monthly duty cycle of up to 150,000 pages. This printer offers automatic two-sided printing, which saves both paper and money. It also prints quickly at up to 35 ppm for both colour and black. Standard print resolution is high at up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. This printer warms up more quickly from power-saving mode and prints the first page more quickly than many printers. Five paper input tray allow a maximum paper capacity of 2,100 pages.
Disadvantages
Overall, it is very difficult to find any flaws with this printer. It is very heavy and especially large, but a wheeled stand makes it suitable to stand on the floor and move easily. It is faster and yields more monthly prints than many printers, so it makes up for its size in productivity.
