Expert review of the Xerox Phaser 7800DN printer
The Xerox Phaser 7800DN is a speedy printer with fantastic professional quality resolution. It would work well for a business desiring to print top-quality graphics. It prints lightning fast once it gets started. Automatic two-sided printing capabilities save paper and money. On the down side, it takes a few seconds longer than similar printers to print the first page. While finishing options to make sleek booklets are available as add-ons, they do not come standard. This would be a nice addition with such a high-resolution printer.
Design
Xerox Phaser 7800DN is quite large, weighing close to 81 kg. It measures 641 x 699 x 578 mm. The system specifications are 160 GB of hard disk space, 2 GB of memory, and one USB port on this printer. The exterior is half white and half dark blue with an intuitive touch screen interface. An additional paper tray is optional, but not included in this model.
Advantages
The Xerox Phaser 7800DN includes many top-notch features. The professional level print resolution of around 1200 x 2400 dpi is by far the most appealing feature for those needing high-quality graphics. Print large documents quickly at up to 45 ppm in colour or black. Enjoy an astounding monthly duty cycle of up to 225,000 pages per month. Finishing options are available including advanced stacker, stapler, and hold-punch. Other finishing options include booklet making for professional presentations and even saddle-stitch and v-fold.
Disadvantages
Unfortunately, the Xerox 7800DN takes about 2 seconds longer than similar printers to print the first page. This is somewhat unexpected, but the overall print speed is very high concerning pages per minute and print resolution is very good. It would be nice to see the additional paper tray and standard finishing options included in this model, as they would add value for those printing large, high-quality professional documents.
