The Xerox Phaser 7800DX is a speedy printer with truly professional quality resolution. It would work well for a business desiring to print top-quality graphics without outsourcing. It prints lightning fast when it has warmed up. Its automatic two-sided printing capabilities save paper and money. On the down side, it takes a few seconds longer than similar printers to print the first page. While finishing options to make sleek booklets are available as add-ons, they do not come standard. This would be a nice addition with such a high-resolution printer.
Design
The Xerox Phaser 7800DX is quite large and it weighs close to 125 kg. It measures about 641 x 699 x 953 mm. This version of the Phaser 7800 includes a stand with casters. The system specifications are 160 GB of hard disk space, 2 GB of memory, and one USB port on this printer. The exterior is half white and half dark blue with an intuitive touch screen interface. An additional high-capacity tandem tray is included to allow maximum paper handling.
Advantages
The Xerox Phaser 7800DX includes many top-notch features. The professional level print resolution of around 1200 x 2400 dpi is by far the most appealing feature for those needing high-quality graphics. Print large documents quickly at up to 45 ppm in colour or black. Enjoy an astounding monthly duty cycle of up to 225,000 pages per month. Finishing options are available including advanced stacker, stapler, and hold-punch. Other finishing options include booklet making for professional presentations and even saddle-stitch and v-fold. An additional high-capacity tandem tray increases this version’s total maximum paper capacity to 3,140 sheets.
Disadvantages
The Xerox Phaser 7800DX takes about two seconds longer than other Phaser models to print the first page. However, the overall print speed is very high with regards to pages per minute which will no doubt make up for the discrepancy on multi-page print jobs and print resolution is extraordinary.
