The Xerox Phaser 7800GX is a speedy printer with impressive professional quality resolution. It would work well for a business needing to print top-quality graphics without outsourcing. It prints at lightning fast speeds once it gets started. All Phaser 7800 versions include automatic two-sided printing capabilities to help save paper and money. On the down side, it takes a few seconds longer than some other printers to print the first page. While finishing options to make sleek booklets are available as optional add-ons, they do not come standard. This would be a nice addition for such a high-resolution printer.
Design
This printer is quite large with a weight of 116 kg, and measurements of 641 x 699 x 953 mm. However, this version does come equipped with a wheeled stand. The system specifications include 160 GB of hard disk space, 2 GB of memory, and one USB port on this printer. The exterior is half white and half dark blue, and it is equipped with an intuitive touch screen interface. An additional three-tray module is sure to keep paper stocked for professional print jobs.
Advantages
The Xerox Phaser 7800GX includes many top-notch features. The professional level print resolution of around 1200 x 2400 dpi is by far the most appealing feature for those needing high-quality graphics. Print large documents quickly at up to 45 ppm in colour or black. Enjoy a monthly duty cycle of up to 225,000 pages per month. Finishing options are available including advanced stacker, stapler, and hold-punch. Other finishing options include booklet making for professional presentations, as well as saddle-stitch, and v-fold. An additional three-tray module increases the total maximum paper capacity to 2,180 sheets.
Disadvantages
The Xerox Phaser 7800GX takes a couple of seconds longer than other models to print the first page. However, the print speed is very high with regard to pages per minute, which should make up the difference on multi-page print jobs, and print resolution is extraordinary.
