Expert review of the Xerox VersaLink C400N printer
Versatile and professional, the Xerox VersaLink C400N is one of the best options for colour and black and white printing for small to medium businesses and home offices. With a user friendly 5-inch colour touchscreen that mimics the interface of most mobile devices, it is simple to install and operate this machine. It can easily connect to the internet via Ethernet LAN and Wi-Fi with an optional Wi-Fi kit, and to USB through a high-speed USB 3.0 port. It is compatible with most cloud storage accounts, such as, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive and Dropbox. The machine is compact and stylish, designed to fit easily onto most office desks.
Design
The Xerox C400N, is a colour and mono printer with a 250-sheet output tray on the top of the machine. Measuring 19 x 15 x 19 inches, the machine features a touchscreen display and USB and Ethernet portals. The standard version includes a 550-sheet tray and a 150-sheet bypass tray with the option to incorporate an additional 550 sheet tray. With a 1.05GHz processor and 2GB of memory, the machine can print up to 36 pages per minute in either black and white or colour. The total duty cycle is a maximum of 80,000 pages per month.
Advantages
As far as colour and mono printers are concerned, the Xerox VersaLink C400N includes all the features most businesses and home offices would need. It is an all-round printer, with a decent paper supply tray, a double-sided printing option and the capacity to print image quality of up to 600 x 600 x 8 dpi. The cloud storage and Wi-Fi connectivity is also a plus for the Xerox VersaLink C400N, as well as the simple set-up process and operation.
Disadvantages
As one of the smaller scale printers, the Xerox C400N is designed to be efficient and professional with small to medium scale printing projects. It doesn’t really have the power or processor to deal with larger projects.
