Expert review of the Xerox VersaLink C7020 printer
Xerox’s VersaLink range was designed specifically for smaller or medium-sized workplaces and offices that want the productivity, professionalism and speed of a top-of-the-line MFP. This colour printer offers a print speed of up to 20 ppm in both colour and black and white, as well as automatic duplex printing and a monthly duty cycle of up to 87,000 pages. This excellent speed and productivity is complemented by Xerox ConnectKey technology, which keeps the Xerox VersaLink C7020 completely connected and up to date.
Design
The Xerox VersaLink C7020 measures 590 x 671 x 768 mm and weighs 67kg. It features Xerox’s classic off-white and petrol blue colourway, which is both subtle and unobtrusive, while the 7 inch colour touchscreen control panel ensures ultimate ease of use. This tablet-like interface is intuitive and customisable, and will feel very familiar to anyone who uses mobile devices. There are a number of different finishing options available, but the Xerox VersaLink C7020 comes with a 520-sheet input tray and a 100-sheet bypass tray as standard.
Advantages
The Xerox C7020 features a print speed of 20 ppm in colour and black and white, a first print speed of just over 7 seconds, and duplex printing as standard. There is a 1.05GHz dual core processor and 4GB of memory, while the print resolution is 1200 x 2400 dpi. Another advantage to this model is its level of connectivity, which is guaranteed through its use of ConnectKey technology. Users can print directly from smartphones and tablets, or straight from the cloud through use of applications such as Google Cloud Print, Apple Air Print, Mopria and Android.
Disadvantages
The price point and size of this model will put it out of reach for many smaller offices and businesses, which is a shame.
