Expert review of the Xerox VersaLink C8000 printer
The Xerox VersaLink C8000 is a colour multifunction printer with the facility to copy, scan and fax, as well as print up to A3 in size. With its ability to print banners and a range of finishing options, including a stapler, booklet maker and hole punch, this is a versatile printer able to meet the demands of a medium to large business. The print quality reaches a high professional standard ensuring business documents reach the required standard. For a business requiring high volume printing, this is a good option which will increase efficiency. However, it is not designed for the needs of a smaller business or one which does not require high volume printing.
Design
The Xerox VersaLink C8000 measures 620 x 723 x 809.3 mm and comes in a white and grey casing. On the front is a touchscreen control panel to manage the printer operations. It features a printing speed of 45 ppm for both colour and monochrome, and it has a recommended monthly print volume of 20,000 pages and the duty cycle is 205,000 images per month. The standard paper capacity is 1,140 sheets, with two trays each holding 520 sheets and a bypass tray of 100 sheets. This can be expanded up to a maximum of 5,140 sheets. Connection is achieved via an Ethernet, USB or wirelessly.
Advantages
With a generous paper capacity, the Xerox VersaLink C8000 reduces the downtime needed for paper refills. Duplex printing comes as standard and there are a range of finishing options available, including a stapler, hole puncher and booklet maker. Security features allow for the printing of sensitive documents and wireless connectivity and apps allow mobile printing.
Disadvantages
As the Xerox VersaLink C8000 is only suitable for high volume printing, it is unlikely to meet the more modest needs of smaller business or companies which do not require such high volume.
