The Xerox WorkCentre 6605NW is a multi-functional laser printer that fits the needs of a busy office. It is capable of printing, scanning, copying, and faxing in colour or black. Its all-in-one capabilities make it stand out from its competitors. Advanced copy and fax features assist with daily tasks. The wide colour display is attractive and user-friendly. Print and copy resolution are around the average dpi, which could fall short for professional projects. Prints appear rapidly, but the first page takes a bit more time than is ideal. Unfortunately, this printer does not provide two-sided prints.
Design
A Xerox WorkCentre 6605NW weighs 32.5 kg, and measures 430 x 525 x 560 mm. The exterior is primarily white, with dark blue wrapping around the upper paper output and scanner lid. Above the paper output, you will find the scanner and copier lid, which is where the controls and large intuitive colour display are located. This machine features 512 MB of memory and a USB port for printing directly from USB storage.
Advantages
The Xerox 6605NW is an excellent all-in-one machine with the capability to print, copy, scan, and fax, and will conveniently print in black when the colour runs out. Print resolution and copy resolution are both about 600 x 600 dpi. Print speed is faster than lower priced models at around 35 ppm, with copy speeds nearly the same. Copy features include auto-fit, edge erase and cloning, in addition to broadcast fax, delayed fax, fax forwarding, junk blocking, LAN fax, and secure fax. It will scan to the network, USB, application, or email.
Disadvantages
This Xerox WorkCentre 6605NW features a colour display that puts a touch screen display alongside a more conventional set of buttons. You can expect some confusion as you work out which interface to use at any one time.
