The Xerox WorkCentre 7830i uses Xerox 006R0151 toner cartridges. Xerox 006R0151 toner comes in black and multicolour; the black cartridge prints 26,000 pages, the multicolour cartridge prints 15,000 pages.
This Xerox WorkCentre 7830i is great all-rounder for the busy modern office. It offers great resolutions at workable speeds, with a number of useful functions as standard or optional extras.
This multifunction colour laser printer is a freestanding castor-mounted model, with the output tray and control panel located at the top – these features should be taken into consideration when planning for placement and clearance. The Xerox WorkCentre 7830i weighs in at a pretty hefty 151.9kg, and measures 64 centimetres wide by 69.9 centimetres deep by 1 metre 51.9 centimetres tall. Styled in classic Xerox blue and white, with functional lines and front-facing paper trays and cartridge change, the machine is controlled from a panel incorporating a full colour LCD display screen and associated push button controls.
This colour laser printer benefits from integrated printing, scanning and copying functions, and it can go from start to first printed page in nine seconds for colour or 7.7 seconds for black and white. Thereafter, the Xerox WorkCentre 7830i is capable of achieving print speeds of 30 pages per minute in single-sided A4 black and white or colour (the speeds are based on text only – the addition of images will increase print times) and can achieve resolutions of up to 1,200 x 2,400 dpi in print and 600 x 600 dpi in copy. The machine has a respectable maximum monthly duty cycle of 90,000 pages per month, with a recommended volume of 8,000 to 10,000 pages, making it capable of dealing with significant workloads. The addition of optional input trays takes the model to a decent input maximum of 2,180 sheets, reducing the time spent on manual paper top-ups. The machine benefits from an auto duplex feature to make lighter work of double-sided document printing.
The standard input capacity of the Xerox WorkCentre 7830i is a little on the low side, as is the print speed. Beyond that, there’s little counting against the Xerox 7830i.
