One of the more advanced colour laser printers from HP, the HP Colour LaserJet 5500dtn offers 160 MB of SDRAM and an internal print server, which allows for fast Ethernet connection. It retains the auto duplex feature and high print capacity, while HP also added extra paper capacity by including an additional 500 sheet input tray and stand. The HP Colour LaserJet 5500dtn is an excellent choice for offices with mid to high volume printing needs, but if speed is a major requirement, the machine is quite inferior to other models, averaging only 21ppm.
Design
Measuring 24.8x27.7x38.8 inches, the HP Colour LaserJet 5500dtn is not the most compact machine, especially with the addition of the extra input tray. The machine's bulk, however guarantees durability and efficiency, especially when it comes to high volume printing. The Colour LaserJet 5500dtn has a standard input capacity of 1,100 sheets, which can be extended up to 1,600, although output capacity is only about 250 sheets.
