The Lexmark MS417dn is a monochrome laser printer designed for use in a small or home office. The printer prints efficiently and reliably to a high standard with an impressive level of detail in the graphics. With prints proving fade resistant, it is ideal for documents which need to be archived. Operating costs are low thanks to a range of environmental features. However, with no facility to colour print, copy, scan or fax it is unlikely that this could be the sole office printer, but can make a valuable addition. However, to work well in a modern workplace and to function efficiently during periods of high volume you are likely to need to purchase wireless connectivity and additional paper trays.
Design
Measuring just 263x399x382mm the Lexmark MS417dn is a compact machine in a grey design. Print speeds are 38ppm, resolution is 1200 dpi and the monthly duty cycle is 100,000 pages. The printer operations are managed using a 6cm colour LCD display screen and keys on a control panel. Connection is achieved from a USB or network interface, and there is an optional Wi-Fi connection if required. Paper storage is in a 250-sheet tray and a 50 sheet multi-purpose feeder with the option to increase capacity up to 850 pages.
Advantages
