The Ricoh Aficio MP161L printer has a powerful web-based device and job management tool with two websites available. One is designed for the network administrator and the other for the end user. When in end-user mode, the status of a certain scan, fax, and print jobs are transmitted and can be managed by users. In the administrator mode, device and network configurations may be remotely set. In addition, the device will notify the administrator proactively should an error appear when the device requires preventive services.
Design
The printer measures 19.1 x 17.7 x 14.6 inches and weighs 52.91 lbs. It has a built-in 40GB hard disk, a 300MHZ processor and 128 MB of RAM, and it consumes 900 watts of power in normal mode and 25 watts in power-saving mode. It also has a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi and a print speed of 16 ppm. The printer supports all Windows and Mac operating systems and easily connects via an Ethernet cable and USB 2.0 as well. The scan resolution is 600 dpi. The fax has a transmission memory of 240 MB and reception memory of 120 MB. It has a monthly duty cycle of 75,000 pages. The printer also has a dispensing and monitoring system for automatically setting the toner density.
