Expert review of the Xerox Phaser 6600NW printer
The Xerox Phaser 6600NW is a colour laser printer. It prints quickly and efficiently in colour or black. It is surprising to learn that this printer does not allow two-sided printing, which would save both paper and money. This feature is offered in a nearly identical printer. It does not ship wireless ready like some other printers.
Design
The multipurpose tray holds up to 150 sheets of paper and both additional trays hold up to 550 sheets of paper each. The Xerox Phaser 6600NW will fit in almost any office as it measures just 430 x 488 x 384 mm. It weighs in at 25.5 kg. The cube design would fit on most large desks that have extra space. The dark blue wave pattern on a primarily white body seems to be a design unique to Xerox printers.
Advantages
The Xerox Phaser 6600NW can print on various weights of media. It prints with relative speed at up to 35 ppm on A4 paper. Print resolution is up to 1200 x 1200 dpi with enhanced image quality. This printer warms up more quickly from power-saving mode and prints the first page faster than many printers. Advanced features like settings for rich colour and eco-conscious aspects make this printer both specialized and efficient. It also offers an impressive duty cycle of 80,000 images per month.
Disadvantages
The Xerox Phaser 6600NW does not include automatic printing on both sides of the page. Two-sided printing would make this machine more cost efficient and friendly to the environment by saving paper. However, the option is available for a slight premium on alternate versions, but the difference in price might well be made up for in paper savings depending on your usage of the feature. While it does have wireless and network capabilities, it does not arrive out of the box with the wireless ready feature like some printers.
