The Canon Pixma MG3100 is a wireless, all-in-one printer that can be connected to a number of different devices, which makes it possible to print remotely. It can also be used to copy and scan documents as well as fax. The convenience of the multiple functions and the ease of use put it high on the list of the printers that would benefit a small office or business from home.

Design

The Canon Pixma MG3100 has been designed appropriately so that there is no wasted space within its confines. The document holders can easily be withdrawn and returned as and when necessary. The design means that it is simple to take advantage of the various functions by following one with another without needing to make any changes. The LCD screen is well placed and clearly shows the operation of the printer. The cassette comprises an auto feeder and there are various types of paper that it can accommodate, such as plain and photo paper, making this a highly versatile printer.

Advantages

The running costs of the Canon MG3100 are low due to the refillable ink tanks and its energy efficiency, which stems from the fact that it automatically switches on and off. Along with the flatbed, the printer comprises a document feeder to improve the ease of use. Not only can the USB 2.0 connection be used, but it is also Wi-Fi and Cloud enabled to allow printing to be carried out remotely.

Disadvantages

The energy saving standby mode of the Canon Pixma MG3100 kicks in after 11 minutes of inactivity. The borderless printing ability only works with certain sizes and the printing speed may seem a little slow at approximately 8.8 images per minute in mono and five in colour.
