The Canon Pixma TS5100 is a network printer with copying and scanning capabilities. It accepts a range of different media, including T-shirt transfers, greetings cards, plain paper and envelopes. This unit is especially useful for printing photographs, either directly from a smartphone or via a computer. Using the Easy-PhotoPrint + option, users can also create or edit their photographs online, then send them to the printer directly. The compact size of this unit makes it a good choice for small offices or homes where images and documents are regularly required but space is limited.
Design
This printer weighs 14.3 lb and measures 16.8 x 12.5 x 5.8 inches, this means it has a minimal footprint and can be easily stored on a shelf or desk. For fast connectivity, the Canon Pixma TS5100 is complete with a high-speed USB 1 port, as well as a wireless LAN port. It is compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems, as well as mobile software from Android and iOS devices. The paper output tray can manage a total of 50 sheets, while the input tray will take 100 sheets.
Advantages
This printer has been designed to work seamlessly with a range of printing software so that users can link up with Google Cloud Print, AirPrint or Canon Print to created images. The printer has a resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 dpi, so photographs are rendered in great quality. When double-sided copies are required, there is an auto-duplexing feature to reduce the time staff needs to be present. In terms of the maximum paper size accepted, it can produce prints of up to 8 inches.
Disadvantages
The Canon Pixma TS5100 copier function is slightly complicated to use. It involves pulling out a cassette and loading it with the originals rather than simply placing them on a scanner.
