Expert review of the Canon i-SENSYS LBP6000B printer
The Canon LBP-6000B is a mono only (black & white) printer that's small and compact – making it ideal for homes and small offices that lack floor space. Print speeds are respectable, but its lack of features that are necessary to a modern business rule this printer out of the enterprise market.
Design
Standing at just 198mm(h) and 359mm(w), the Canon LBP-6000B will fit on the smallest of desks! The slim design, does, however, come at a cost. There is no control panel or display screen, and there's just one single USB connection at the rear. As expected from a mono printer, the Canon LBP-6000B uses a single toner that is quick and easy to replace.
Advantages
Print quality is fantastic – text characters appear clear and sharp – ideal if you print large text documents. Print speeds are equally as impressive – churning out 18ppm, the first printout is just as fast – flying out the printer within 8 seconds of pressing 'Print'. The laser print technology that's built into the Canon LBP-6000B makes the printer extremely quiet – a welcomed change from the grunt of an inkjet.
Disadvantages
Canon really missed a trick by not including WiFi on this machine, this addition would have allowed you to really take advantage of the compact design, and tuck this printer away, without the need for a USB wire to connect. The Canon LBP-6000B is really only suited if you only print text documents and don't need to add multiple devices to the printer.
