The HP LaserJet Pro 400 Color MFP M475 is a multifunction device with high quality colour printing capabilities. Aimed at small offices, the Hewlett Packard LaserJet M475 colour multifunction printer has time-saving and eco-friendly features that simplify printing tasks and promote user-friendly operation, but overall performance is quite disappointing.

Design

This heavy box-shaped device weighs 29.5Kg and measures 16.5 inches wide, 19.7 inches tall, and 19 inches deep. It has a 33.6Kbps fax modem, a flatbed scanner with an automatic document feeder, and a digital copier. The HP LaserJet Pro 400 MFP M475 colour laser printer uses four individual toner cartridges, and connectivity options are fast Ethernet, a front panel host USB port, and a high-speed USB 2.0 port. The device is powered by an ARM1176 600MHz processor, and on-board operation is carried out by a 3.5-inch LCD touch-screen, navigational and one-touch buttons, and LED indicators. Up to 50 sheets can be handled by the automatic document feeder and the first tray, while the second tray can handle 250 sheets.

Advantages

Plug-and-play eliminates the need for an installation CD. Document production can be quicker because of ePrint feature, while output quality is generally good with sharp and consistent graphics. Energy consumption is reduced by the HP LaserJet Pro 400 Color M475 multifunction printer because of auto-off and instant-on technologies, while two-sided printing helps minimise consumption of resources. The intuitive touch screen panel of the HP LaserJet 400 M475 colour printer makes it easier to operate or program.
