The Samsung CLX-6260FR is a multifunction device that promises high-speed printing in true colour and the convenience of fax, copy, and scan functions to streamline workflow in a small office. It offers a range of innovative qualities for security and improved productivity in workgroups, but it is an expensive machine that can be pricier to upgrade.
Design
A somewhat boxy frame makes the Samsung CLX6260FR stand out in a standard office desk. It weighs 26.7Kg and measures 18.46 inches wide, 19.85 inches tall, and 17.81 inches deep. It runs on 512MB of memory with a dual CPU set-up consisting of 150MHz sub and 533MHz main processors. On top of the flatbed scanner is the 50-sheet automatic document feeder, and adjacent to it is the control panel with a 4-line blue backlit display screen, one-touch operational buttons, and a numeric keypad. The CLX6260-FR features a 33.6Kbps fax machine with 6MB of memory. Connectivity options include two USB ports and Ethernet.
Advantages
It is a multifunction device with mobile print, direct USB, built-in duplexer, and one-touch eco mode as part of the value-added features. There is a fairly large display screen for easy navigation and operation. The built-in memory of the Samsung CLX-6260-FR can be upgraded to 1GB for more speed. Additional paper trays may be integrated to increase the maximum media capacity to 820 sheets. The CLX-6260FR prints in 24ppm for both colour and monochrome.
Disadvantages
The Samsung CLX-6260FR could be a better choice for small offices if it was cheaper. There are no wireless printing options. The device is quite heavy, too, and the 150-sheet output bin cannot be expanded.
