A multifunction printer, scanner, and copier from Samsung, the CLX-3185W is equipped with MobilePrint technology. However, its rather slow speed limits its application to home and small office settings with low printing requirements. It lacks a fax machine, which most multifunction printers have.
Design
The Samsung CLX-3185W is a compact and sleek machine capable of producing high-quality prints at up to 2400 x 600dpi resolution. It is a convenient and powerful multifunction printer with Wi-Fi capabilities. It can multitask so you finish jobs faster, and is compatible with Samsung Mobileprint technology, which lets you print web pages, photos, PDF files, documents, and other compatible files directly from mobile devices, such as phones and tablet PCs.
Advantages
This printer boasts convenient features like 'ID copy' for double-sided copying of ID cards, and an Eco Copy mode that cuts toner costs. It is fairly quiet and supports a wide range of paper types including A4, executive, business cards, labels, and envelopes. The high-yield cartridges allow you to save money on ink.
Disadvantages
The print speed of the Samsung CLX is slow for this price range. The display (a 2-line LCD screen) is outdated, and compatibility with operating systems is limited (it does not support Mac, for example.) The CLX-3185W does not have a fax machine.
