What will you do when your HP PSC 1510 printer needs a replacement cartridge. Where will you get it? Cartridges are expensive and the more you print the more expensive it gets. If you go to the usual discount stores, you'll find they don't give you much of a discount. You may be wondering if there isn't a better, more cost effective way to get your replacement HP 1510 ink cartridges. Here at Cartridge Save you can find a full selection of PSC 1510 ink cartridges, at low, low discount prices!
The HP PSC 1510 uses HP 338 ink cartridges. HP 338 ink comes in black; the black cartridge prints 480 pages.
The compact PSC 1510 isn't HP's most functional printer but as an entry-level, home device it's more than capable of catering for most printing requirements. The multifunction printer comes with a scanner, copier and PictBridge support so you can connect your digital camera directly. The HP PSC 1510 inkjet printer is a useful device to have around the house for occasional use. However, if you're after a printer that accepts memory cards and can be used on a network then consider shopping elsewhere.
The PSC 1510 is housed in a modern, glossy grey and white shell that will look great in any home office or bedroom. Except for the PictBridge port at the front, HP has completely stripped down the PSC 1510. There are no card slots and only a basic LCD display. The flimsy paper tray folds out from the front and can hold 100 sheets. The printer uses HP's Vivera inks for improved printing quality, unfortunately these come as one single ink tank, meaning they have to be completely disposed of, even when just one colour has run out.
As an entry-level printer, the HP PSC 1510 quality is fairly impressive. Text documents appear sharp and colour graphics are vibrant with plenty of detail. Don't expect lab-quality photographic prints, but as a budget printer the 1510 copes pretty well – photos looked fairly true to colour with only a few contrast issues. The scanner also fared well both in terms of speed and quality, and the added bonus of being able to remove the lid means you can scan the thickest of documents.
It would have been nice to see HP add extra functionality to the PSC 1510 inkjet printer, perhaps even adding Wi-Fi or Ethernet to allow network printing. The other major downfall of the PSC 1510 is its sluggish print speeds. Although HP quotes 20ppm for black, it's actually nearer 8ppm, the copier also suffered similar problems.
