Expert review of the HP Officejet 100 Mobile printer
The HP Officejet 100 Mobile, as the name suggests, is a printer built for people on the move. It comes with a rechargeable battery, Bluetooth and a PictBridge port to print directly from cameras. Although considering it is being marketed as a mobile printer, it is slightly heavy at 2.3kg (heavier than most notebooks).
Design
The HP Officejet 100 Mobile stands at just 175 x 347 x 8mm – roughly the same size as a modern laptop. It comes with a 50 sheet, paper insert tray that folds out from the top and a USB port at the rear. Unfortunately, there's no WiFi support or memory card accessibility.
Advantages
The rechargeable battery, with a 500 page print life is one of the biggest selling features of the HP Officejet 100 Mobile. The ability to print directly from smart phones using Bluetooth technology is also a nice touch. Being an inkjet the print quality of the machine is better that some of its competitors, but on the same hand print speed is rather slow - churning out prints at a measly 1.8 pages per minute.
Disadvantages
If you were planning to use the HP Officejet 100 Mobile for business needs, lack of WiFi may be an issue, while its print speed and 50 paper capacity would be a nuisance for larger print jobs too. This printer is more suited to home users and anyone who is often on the go and needs a portable device to print from when they're not at their home office or bedroom desk.
