HP designed the Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One as a user-friendly multifunction printer that is affordable and tech-savvy. The HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One boasts an intuitive touchscreen and it can produce high-quality colour output, making it a suitable photo printer for home users. However, it lacks some features that could affect its overall usefulness and efficiency.
Design
The touchscreen provides a more modern and tech-savvy look for the HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One despite the plain and understated frame that it has. It is lightweight, weighing only 5Kg, and it measures 139.7mm tall and 431.8mm wide. USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi are the standard connectivity options. Up to 80 sheets of plain paper can be loaded into the input tray, while the output tray can handle up to 15 sheets.
Advantages
The HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One saves space with collapsible paper trays. It is easy to operate because of the touchscreen control panel. It prints fast, with text at 9ppm and 4ppm in colour when using photo paper. Documents that are printed in draft mode are still clear and legible. Ink replacement costs are average, making it cost-effective in the long run. The HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One can print directly from SD and MMC memory cards.
Disadvantages
The driver that comes with the HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One does not support manual two-sided printing. There is no automatic document feeder for the scanner. Scans appear washed-out with slight banding. Some users reported that if the colour cartridge of the HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One runs out of ink, it is impossible to print, even in monochrome.
