Expert review of the HP Photosmart C6380 printer
Definitely a step up from the previous C5380, the Photosmart C6380 is a multifunction option designed for home printing and scanning. It is a copier, printer, and scanner in one, with the added bonus of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Print speed is 31ppm in colour, and 33ppm in black and white. High quality imagery is also a priority for the Photosmart C6380, producing images with up to 9600x2400dpi resolution. It can't fax, but many home offices and small offices have dedicated fax machines, anyway.
Design
Unlike the C5380, HP's Photosmart C6380 boasts comprehensive connectivity, adding Ethernet networking, Wi-Fi, and optional Bluetooth to the standard USB port connection. The optional Bluetooth allows wireless connectivity to mobile phones and notebooks. The handsome Photosmart C6380 sports a 2.4" tilting screen right on the top left of the unit.
Advantages
The Photosmart C6380 is capable of A4 size borderless printing. Standard 4x6" photos are printed out in as little as 28 seconds. The dual-drop ink cartridges are efficient, driving printing costs down to a little less than 20 cents a page. The quality of the final print is pretty impressive on a good variety of media. This printer also supports a good selection of memory cards and PictBridge compatible devices. Users are provided a quick full colour preview before every scan. Disadvantages
