The Ricoh Aficio GELJET SG3110DN A4 colour printer is an affordable and high quality printer that uses innovative ink to minimise overall printing costs and improve productivity. The device is suitable for small offices because of its compact size and ease of use. The Ricoh SG 3110DN Aficio gel printer is also an affordable colour printing solution for the small to medium sized office. However, the lack of expandability does make the SG3110DN colour gel printer less efficient for a growing workgroup.

Design

This is a compact single function device that runs on 128MB of memory and weighs 10.5Kg. It's only 212.5mm tall, 436.5mm deep and 399mm wide. The default paper handling capacity is 250 sheets for the input feeder and 100 sheets for the output bin. The Ricoh Aficio SG3110DN printer is part of the GEL JET series, which uses high yield liquid gel ink to print high-resolution output, at up to 3600x1200dpi. The control panel is simplified with minimal buttons and a backlit display screen.

Advantages

Users may add a multi-bypass tray and two 250-sheet paper trays to improve paper handling. Administrators can monitor or control usage with the SmartDeviceMonitor software. The Ricoh GELJET SG-3110DN is energy efficient, warms up fast and prints at speeds of up to 12ppm. The maximum paper capacity of this device is 850 sheets. The SG 3110DN gel printer produces sharp and accurate output in full colour or monochrome, with quick-drying Ricoh Aficio SG3110DN liquid gel inks that are viscous and resistant to humidity and moisture, so pictures last longer.

Disadvantages

The Ricoh SG 3110DN printer lacks wireless connectivity so users who need to connect to the internet should opt for the SG 3110DNw model instead. There aren't a lot of expandability options either for paper handling and memory. Upgrading the GELJET SG3110DN printer can be expensive. Some users might find the lack of a secondary tray to be inconvenient. Problems in configuring the SG 3110DN to work as a LAN printer have been reported.
